Tax Exemption
Our apartments are tax-exempt, so tenants are not eligible to claim the full amount of their rent under CRA guidelines. Tenants may claim $25 on the ON-BEN form as the Ontario energy and property tax credit. A receipt is not required.
Noise Considerations
Please be mindful of your neighbours and help keep our community comfortable for everyone. We ask tenants and guests to limit music, gatherings and other noise that may travel between units. Being considerate, especially overnight, helps create a respectful living environment where everyone can rest, study and feel at home.
Emergency Maintenance Outside of Rental Office Hours
The Rental Offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. If you experience a maintenance concern, lockout or community issue outside office hours, please use the following resources:
- For urgent non-maintenance emergencies, call Campus Police at 519-661-3300.
- For non-urgent or semi-urgent concerns, email the Rental Office and we will respond during office hours.
- For urgent maintenance emergencies during office closures such as flood, fire or loss of power or heat, call the Ontario Hall Front Desk at 519-661-2088.
Western Community Garden
Did you know Western has a community garden on-site? The Western Community Garden is a collaborative campus initiative that highlights sustainability and creative reuse. Join your neighbours to plant, harvest and connect. You can learn more about this initiative online.
